In Porvoo the construction of public wells and water pumps became necessary in the late 19th century, when the town's settlement spread south, to the present Empire district. There were many wells in Porvoo in 19th and 20th century but when the water supply network were constructed these became unnecessary and were demolished. Fortunately two public well still exist in Porvoo and are landmarks here.
This well is about 100 years old has three pumping handles around it as seen in pictures. Unfortunately these are not operational any more.

How to find.:
Go to the City Park. The well is easy to locate in crossroads of Lundinkatu and Kaivokatu (Well street). Parking is available around the park.
