The water tower located in remand prison in Ruzyne, Prague, served originally as a chimney of sugar factory builded in 1836. Thus the chimney is probably one of the oldest factory chimneys in Prague. When the sugar factory was demolished in 1921, only the chimney was preserved. In 1931-35 it was rebuilded into the water tower with octagonal resorvoir supported with concrete pillars around the chimney according a design of Karel Domansky. On the top of the reservoir is octagonal room with glass windows. After World War II was builded here remand prison.
