La Villa Bagatelle est située à Québec, dans le quartier Sillery au 1563, chemin Saint-Louis. Ce site historique avec son jardin à l'anglaise, est ouvert au public.
En 1849, Henry Atkinson fait construire sur sa propriété de Spencer Wood, le Parc du Bois-de-Coulonge, en banlieue de Québec, un petit cottage néogothique qu'il appellera Spencer Cottage ou Bagatelle, en rappel du domaine de Bagatelle, près de Paris, propriété de son ami lord Henry Seymour. Le jardinier paysagiste écossais Peter Lowe aménage les jardins du domaine selon les préceptes du mouvement pittoresque anglais. Incendiée en 1926, l'habitation est reconstruite par l'architecte Thomas Reid Peacock qui s'inspire de photographies de la villa pour la reconstruire en conservant son allure pittoresque.
Abandonnée et saccagée pendant une décennie (1973-1983), la villa est acquise par l'ancienne ville de Sillery qui la restaure et la convertit en centre de diffusion culturelle avec l'aide du ministère des Affaires culturelles. Depuis 2002, la villa et son programme d'activités sont gérés par l'Arrondissement de Sainte-Foy–Sillery-Cap-Rouge.
La Villa Bagatelle et son jardin sont parmi les exemples les plus représentatifs de l'influence du courant pittoresque anglais à Québec, tant par l'architecture du bâtiment que par l'aménagement du jardin, composé de centaines de plantes exotiques et indigènes.

In 1849, Henry Atkinson built on the property of Spencer Wood (see Parc du Bois de Coulonge), a suburb of Quebec, a small Gothic Revival cottage he called Bagatelle and Spencer Cottage, recalling the Bagatelle field near of Paris, owned by his friend Lord Henry Seymour. The Scottish landscape gardener Peter Lowe landscape gardens of the area according to the precepts of the English picturesque movement. Burned in 1926, the house is rebuilt by the architect Thomas Reid Peacock inspired by photographs of the villa to rebuild retaining its picturesque appearance.
Abandoned and looted during a decade (1973-1983), the villa was acquired by the former city of Sillery, who restores and converts cultural center with assistance from the Department of Cultural Affairs. Since 2002, the villa and its program of activities are managed by the Borough of Sainte-Foy-Sillery-Cap-Rouge.
Villa Bagatelle and its garden are among the most representative examples of the influence of the current picturesque English in Quebec, both by the architecture of the building by the installation of the garden, composed of hundreds of native and exotic plants.
