At the southeast corner of the southern junction of US Route 52 and IL Route 23, visitors can find a small wayside pullout with several trees. Only one of these trees has been decorated with shoes. A wide variety of shoes, boots and scandals can be found.
Viewing the collection of shoes was made easier during my visit because the leaves were starting to fall from the tree and not obscuring my view.
This waymark is located 6 miles north of Interstate 80 Exit #90 for IL Route 23 at Ottawa.
