In Monroe, on the Evergreen State Fairgrounds, there is the Western Heritage Center Interactive Museum, which has tractors, agricultural equipment, washing machines, milking machines, lumber jack tools, and many other things.
The Western Heritage Center Interactive Museum is open all year as " ... a hands on, state of the art, interactive museum of mining, logging, agriculture, wildlife and transportation in Northwestern Washington."
There are many tractors on display, from a steam operated CASE tractor to gas/diesel tractors from the 60s. A water wheel is on display on the side of the building to demonstrate water power. Throughout the place there are washing machines from various times, one of which has been hooked up to a motor that you can run with the push of a button. Several other items can be run with a button, including train layouts. There is an area that displays machines for lumberjacks, a little room for a milking machine, and miscellaneous other displays throughout.
The fairgrounds are located along U.S. Route 2. A donation is requested.
