My Big Fat Greek Wedding is a 2002
American/Canadian romantic comedy film written by and starring Nia Vardalos and
directed by Joel Zwick. At the 75th Academy Awards, it was nominated for the
Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. A sleeper hit, the film grossed
$241.4 million in North America, despite never reaching number one at the box
office during its release (the highest-grossing film to accomplish this feat).
The movie is centered on Fotoula "Toula"
Portokalos (Nia Vardalos), a middle class Greek American woman who falls in love
with a non-Greek upper middle class Ian Miller (John Corbett).
In this screen capture Toula's father (Michael Constantine) washes his car in front of the house
The house is located on Glenwood just off of O'Connor in Toronto
Notice that the garage is on the left side of the house and on the right in real life
The window on the right side of the house in the film looks suspiciously like the same size as the present day garage so I am thinking for some reason
they wanted the garage on the left in the film so they built a fake garage with the greek flag on it and then disguised the actual garage as a big bay window
