Somewhere along the way, the American Bison got misnamed the "Buffalo". Bison and buffalo are only very distantly related, in much the same way that our domestic cattle are related to bison. But this sculpture is a very realistic likeness of the typical bison of Wyoming and captures the wild essence of the creature.
