A quiet residential beach community, Spring Lake is only 5 miles from the struggling Asbury Park. The town does have a boardwalk...but, unlike other Jersey shore towns, this boardwalk has no frills...no arcades, amusements, fast-food joints. The 1,000 Places book cites three upscale romantic Bed and Breakfasts as the attraction to see here. The coordinates above are for The Breakers located at 1507 Ocean Avenue right across from the beach. The Black Trumpet is right next door...and The Sea Crest is just around the block. Interesting trivia note- the actor Jack Nicholson was born here.
