Youghiogheny River Lake (Yawk-a-gay-nee) River Lake is a 16-mile long lake that was created as a flood control project in 1944. The Ranger Station Here is also the administrative offices for the project. The lake backs up into nearby Garrett County. Maryland, as well as parts of Fayette and Somerset Counties as well, the lake is the primary source of revenue and business for the neighboring community of Confluence.
