The La Verne City hall is located close to the downtown area of La Verne. The building itself is a simple rectangular-like building with steps going up to the entrance. The roof is tiled and tilted. On the outside of the building is a large bell that's a monument to the year 2000 and a time capsule to the city's people. Behind the city hall is the county library and a parking lot.
The city is located in the Pomona Valley area of the county of Los Angeles. As of 2000, the city has a population of 31,638. The city's area is over 8 miles squared. It was incorporated in 1906.
