Vernon T. Vanderpool and Michael Tracy were at a training seminar in Torrance, CA in 1994. During an attempted robbery, a gunman burst into the room. Vanderpool was shot as he lunged towards the perpatrator. Tracy was killed while trying to help Vanderpool.
