The sign stands on ground close to what would have been the village pond, now drained and disappeared.

The sign depicts scenes from village life. In clockwise order the four panels depict:- The old windmill, harvest time, King Offa of Mercia who died here in 796 AD and from whom the name Offley derives, and the old well that stood beside the village pond.
