This wood carving statue is located near the entrance of the New Mexico Veterans Memorial complex in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It stands out among the other memorials due to it's subject matter and the fact that it is a wood carving as opposed to the many stone memorials in the complex. The plaque reads:
A poignant reminder what veterans leave behind when the serve and a hope that they will return to the ones they love.
