The memorial was donated by the Minnesota State Veteran's Cemetery Association in honor of the men and women of Minnesota that gave thier lives. The plaque is located along the Memorial Walkway which has about 10 memorials dedicated by various groups in honor of veteran's. This memorial states:
Dedicated to the men and women who have sacrificed their lives to preserve our freedom.
