A combined war memorial in the form of an obelisk at the junction of Hexton and Luton Roads.

The memorial consists of a polished grey granite obelisk mounted on a three tiered plinth. The top plinth carries the names of the fallen on the two sides of the plinth. On the front of the top plinth is the inscription

IN COMMEMORATION

OF THE TRUE AND FAITHFUL MEN

WHO IN THE GREAT WAR

1914-1919

WENT FORTH FROM THIS PLACE

FOR GOD AND THE RIGHT

THE NAMES OF THE 25 WHO RETURNED

NOT AGAIN, ARE HERE INSCRIBED TO BE

HONOURED FOR EVERMORE

On the middle plinth is the inscription 1939-45 and the names of the fallen from the second world war.

The memorial was unveiled by Mr G Warren on the 13th June 1920.
