This bust of JFK is by artist Evangelos Frudakis. It was sculpted and dedicated in 1964. The bust is on a granite pedestal which has the following engraving:
"JOHN FITZGERALD KENNEDY
35TH PRESIDENT
OF THE UNITED STATES
MAY - 29 - 1917
NOV - 22 -1963"
At the bottom of the pedestal 'DEDICATED 1964" IS engraved.
On the granite wall behind the bust is Kennedy's famous quote:
"ASK NOT WHAT YOUR COUNTRY CAN DO FOR YOU
ASK WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR YOUR COUNTRY"
An interesting side note: The 1964 Democratic Convention which nominated LBJ, was held at the Convention Hall across from this bust just months after JFK's assassination.
