Kampong Cham is the first major town to the north east of Phnom Penh. It draws few tourists, most such head further north or are travelling onwards to Laos. The town has a small, private bus station, situated on a street corner, near the central market. This station is owned and operated by the Sorya Bus company, one of the leading bus companies in Cambodia. It has three ticket windows, and looks to be fairly busy.
There are other bus companies operating out of the town, however, they base themselves in much smaller establishments.
