On the southwest corner of Cooweescoowee Avenue and Maple Street stands a black iron, two-faced clock which stands about 7 ft. high. It is not part of the Oklahoma Centennial clock project.
It stands in front of an old bank building which dates from 1906. The downtown area of Oologah has had several buildings restored since the mid-1980's. Oologah is the birthplace of Will Rogers. The name Oologah is a Cherokee word meaning "dark cloud."
