This gazebo is marked as Gazebo #2. The Milwaukee Grand Army of the Republic Commander Henry P. Fisher suggested that the State of Wisconsin make provisions for a veteran's home. The National Home in Milwaukee didn't include widows or spouses as members and didn't have the capability to handle the amount of applicants it was getting. The Grand Army Home at King was opened in 1887 to fill that need.
