Kratie is a small town (pop. ~13,000) in north eastern Cambodia, and the capital of the province of the same name. Directly across from the town is the island of Koh Trong. From this island, along its eastern shore, approximately 1.5km distant, the town of Kratie can be seen. The island can be reached via ferry from Kratie.
The town itself has no high or large buildings but it extends along the shore line for a considerable distance. This particular location is the ferry landing spot on the island. It would be possible to view the town at night, but as the ferry ceases at sunset, this would require an overnight stay on the island.
