The Ft. Sill National Cemetery is one of only two National Cemeteries in Oklahoma, on what was Indian Territory. Ft. Sill was named by Maj. General Philip Sheridan, who staked out the Military Reservation and later named it after West Point graduate and fellow classmate Brigadier General Joshua W. Sill, who died at the Battle of Stones' River during the Civil War.

It was dedicated on Nov 2, 2001, the same date as the first internment.
Office hours are M-F 8-4:30; Closed Federal holidays except Memorial Day.
