Our city was shocked by an accident in which a group of 8 motorcycles with 9 people were mowed down by a dump truck at a traffic light as they were on a pleasure ride.
They stopped at a red light. The truck did not. A combination of sunlight glare, methamphetamine and reading paperwork. Four died. Several others were pinned down, fighting for their lives. The motorcyclists were part of a club and included prominent citizens like a fire captain. This statue is part of a memorial placed in their memory. Its a touching memorial too, with mementos for each individual.
