In Westwood, along Mass. Route 109 near the center of town stands a multi-story brick building with a cupola that is the Westwood Town Hall.
The town hall is in a style that mimics the Georgian style. At each end are two chimneys (four in all). The roof is angled front and back as well as either side. There are two stories with windows crammed in place. The upper story has archways. The entrance is surrounded by a light colored element, arched over the door and windows on either side. The words "Westwood Town Hall" are placed over this area.
The town hall was dedicated on September 27, 1911, with a crowd of 500 in attendance.
Westwood is a relatively small suburban town of about 14,100 people (2000 census). The type of government has town selectmen and a representative town government. Within the town hall are many of the departments, such as the Selectmen, Finance, Collector, Clerk, Treasurer, Assessing, Veterans, Housing, Personnel, Accounting and Legal departments.
