The formal gardens have been laid out by the generations over the years. The family plan over centuries, planting oaks to repair their house. The collection of non-native trees, of which this is one, were planted under the direction of Lord George Cavendish in early 19th Century.
There is an entrance fee for the gardens. Follow signs for Holker Hall.
Free parking and facilities, with Courtyard cafe and gift shop with plants for sale.
