Salt Lake Hardware Company Warehouse Water Tower - Water Towers on Waymarking.com

Originally the building underneath this water tower was a huge warehouse containing a lot of combustible material. And the interior structure was all made of Douglas fir. Each of the five floors was over an acre in size so in the event that a fire did start it needed to be suppressed immediately. This water tank holds a large supply of water expressly for combatting fires. And that water is still needed today because the wood interior structures have been retained.
