The Penny Smashers are loacted just inside the entrance to the Birmingham Zoo. The Birmingham Zoo is Alabama's most popular not-for-profit attraction, drawing more than 450,000 visitors annually. Approximately 750 animals of 250 species call the Birmingham Zoo home, including sea lions, cheetahs and endangered species from six continents.
Each Penny Smashers produces three designs - I did not check to see what the specifics are of each machine. The cost to smash a penny is $0.50. Admission to the Zoo is Adults - $11, Children 2 - 12 years old - $6,
Seniors Citizens 65+ - $6. Hours are - Open year round from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Sunday.
