Each of the 7 "waves" moves independently from one another. Wind powered and produced in 1988. Lin Emery is a New Orleans native, and most of her work is done in this highly polished aluminum. I did not find much information about the sculpture in searches. I did find a bit about her kinetic work, listed in the weblink below.
