The Tibbetts Point Lighthouse and Keeper's Quarters were built in 1827. It still houses it's original Fresnel lens today.
Capt. John Tibbetts of Troy, NY gave 3 acres of his land to establish a lighthouse. It is placed to help ships navigate to and from the mouth of the St. Lawrence River and one of the Great Lakes - Lake Ontario.
Tibbetts Point Lighthouse is open May 26th thru October 9th.
