This granite post with a plaque is situated on the hill between Walkham Head and the South Tavy River. It's a short peat pass and rather difficult to find.

These peat passes were cut by a team of men between 1895 and 1905 under the direction of William Francis Phillpotts. 1837 – 1909. They were cut simply to make traveling easier in very difficult terrain.
Ordnance Survey map reference (10 figure) if within DNP – If outside the Park, add N/A: SX57851 81500
