Monument on the western edge of campus near the engineering hall, dedicated by an engineering honor society to Judith Resnik, one of the seven astronauts that perished in the destruction in flight of the space shuttle Challenger off the coast of southern Florida on the Atlantic Ocean.

She received a B.S. in electrical engineering from Pittsburgh's Carnegie Mellon University in 1970.

The monument consists of a partial pyramidal granite stone, four-sided, about 0.7 meters high, with a metal structure shaped with lines, a polygon, and a circle, which describes the insigna, or badge, of Tau Beta Pi.

The official badge, called the Bent, is a watch key in the shape of the bent of a trestle (see picture). The trestle is the load-bearing part of the bridge, representing Tau Beta Pi's principle of Integrity and Excellence In Engineering. Originally the keys could be used to wind watches. However, because watches have since been fabricated with their own winding mechanisms, modern keys do not. The symbols on the Bent are an ancient form of Greek letters.
