The town of Marshall is located in far northwestern Logan County and is a small rural town which is slowly deteriorating. It has about 300 residents, however, most of them commute to jobs outside the town. The downtown area is abandoned with no operating businesses.

There are two water towers here, side-by-side. It is assumed that the newer has replaced the older in usage. The towers stand north of Main Street, and east of Railroad Avenue on the West side of downtown. The newer tower is painted white with the name of the town and a red dragon.
