Located in Liberty State Park in Jersey City, this sculpture depicts an American soldier carrying a concentration camp survivor upon liberation. The sculpture is located in the center of a field with the Statue of Liberty directly behind it. A little to the side of the sculpture is a small area which has a plaque and the names of those who contributed toward the sculpture.
The inscription at the sculpture reads:
"Dedicated to America’s role of preserving freedom and rescuing the oppressed, this monument, by Natan Rapoport, of an American soldier carrying a World War II concentration camp survivor was gifted to the State of New Jersey through the generosity of thousands of people of good will. May 30, 1985.

The poster of this waymark is originally from Jersey City and remembers riding miles on his bike as a boy to get here when the Park was brand new. It is very poignant to have the Statue of Liberty as a backdrop for this moving sculpture.
