Santa Cruz County has sponsored a demonstration home-compost site and garden behind the Live Oak Grange building. It is maintained by volunteers from the Santa Cruz County Master Composters. There is a three-bin system built from recycled shipping pallets. During 2010 there are no composting classes scheduled, but there is good information provided on the sign. The extensive organic gardens on the Live Oak Grange acreage is the beneficiary of the finished compost.
