The plaque states...
"Near this plaque lie the remains of what is believed to be the 875 tons, 53 metres long wooden Norwegian barque "Solglyt" which was wrecked on 10th July 1901.
In 1973 the wreck was uncovered during excavations for the nearby channel. It was destroyed when the remains were bulldoze aside and deposited in this vicinity.
A Bunbury Joint Heritage Group plaque complied with assistance from the W.A. Maritime Museum and the South West Development Authority."
