This painted brick service station stands on the Southeast corner of Monroe Avenue and First Street in the town of Piedmont. Piedmont is located on State Highway 4, northwest of Oklahoma City. The town has approximately 5800 people and benefited from a surge in population during the 1970's when people realized they could live in a quiet, rural setting and still easily commute to work in Oklahoma City.
This building is in good condition and appears to be vacant, however, there is a metal sign leaning against the building on the East side reading "Brett's Backhoe Service," so Brett may be using this as his office. There are no signs or indication as to what brand station it used to be. It is your typical corner station, angled on the lot to face the corner, with a covered portico where the pumps used to stand. As this town is rapidly growing into an OKC bedroom community, hopefully this building will be renovated and become useful again.
Address of the station: Unknown SE corner Monroe Avenue and First Street Piedmont, OK USA 73078
