Piedmont, OK is located on State Highway 4, northwest of Oklahoma City. It is approximately the geographical center of Oklahoma.
The Piedmont Historical Society operates an historical museum at 101 Monroe Avenue, NW. This is a two-story brick building on the northwest corner of First Street and Monroe Avenue. The museum has numerous documents and artifacts from the early days of Piedmont. The town was first settled after the Land Run of 1889, with the town being platted in 1903. In a fenced area at the back of the building is a display of vintage farm equipment.
The museum was established in 1992 and is open on Saturday from 10:00 to 2:00, and by appointment. Admission is free, however, donations are appreciated.
