The plaque is located in a small park beside the Steveston Museum. There's some seating nearby.
The plaque reads:
Steveston: 1980-1990
The Corporation of the Township of Richmond together with the people of Steveston commemorate Steveston's 100th anniversary. Steveston as given national recognition when Steveston post office opened May 1st, 1890."
Steveston has been important to the history of British Columbia. In the beginning its history, the community was an important fishing hub. The Gulf of Georgia Cannery, a historic cannery is a National Historic Site.
