"The plaque reads: "Here stood the Drill Shed, a wooden building within which British Columbia Garrison Artillery, the pioneering corps of volunteer soldiers of Vancouver, first paraded on January 16th, 1894, and from whence proceeded the contingent to the South African War. God Save the King."
