This plaque in front of the city hall of the City of Langley celebrates the 50 years of incorporation.

The plaque is in front of the city hall/ library. The simple plaque has the name of the city on top. On either side of that are the dates 1955 and 2005. The coat of arms for the city is in the middle. Underneath this is the motto "the place to be." Following this is written: "In commemoration of the 50th anniversary. March 15, 1955 - March 15, 2005."
The plaque was donated by Gord Withrup.
The city of Langley decided to incorporate in 1955. It separated for the Township of Langley. The municipality is surrounded by the township and the municipality of Surrey.
