A red 'phone box lovingly restored and set up on Whipsnade Zoo' Railway Station platform.

Placed on the loop line platform at Whipsnade Zoo's railway, this lovingly restored 'phone box lacks the one vital ingredient for making calls, the 'phone apparatus.

There are some other old items on the platform, fire buckets, a GVR post box, etc, all restored and looking good, re-creating the ambience of a small rural railway station. The 102 year old 0-4-0 saddle tank locomotive, Excelsior, was in steam when we visited, her sister loco' is a mere 84 years old.
