In Sharon, at the corner of Moose Hill St. and S. Main Street, is the Moose Hill Community Farm. This farm is run under the format of a community supported agriculture (CSA). Generally, family obtain shares in the farm and pledge to do so many hours of service at the farm. On a designated day of the week, they will get their allotment of produce, which, of course is government by how much was harvested that week. produce varies widely and may include tomatoes, summer and zucchini squash, beets, beans, corn, many other varieties.
In 2010, the farm is in its 6th season. In 2009, they obtained certified organic produce, and they raised their barn, complete with solar panels, in the same year.
Ward's Berry Farm is an operational farm in Sharon and grows produces that is sold in their farm stand on Main Street as well as to area groceries and restaurants. They have a pumpkin patch where people can pick their own pumpkins in the fall and berry patches in the summer.
