At 114 N. Main Street, Princeton, IN there is a retail jewelry store named Smith Diamonds. The building has obviously existed for quite some time and must surely have some local history behind it. Above the second story windows is what appears to be two ghost signs painted one over the other, but only one is still readable. The one in white lettering is pained over the older black sign that can no longer be read. The white lettering spells out "PUBLIC LIBRARY". Surely the literary gems that twinkled in the eyes of children reading in this former library have morphed into the carbon diamond gems that twinkle in the eyes of their grown grandchildren who visit the retailer now using the building.
