The Edison Electric fountain is located in Perry Square Park in downtown Erie, PA. Visitors are permitted, if not encourged, to play in the water around the fountain. It'a a great way to cool down on hot summer days. In the evenings it is well light, often with changing colors and patterns of water. The park itself was part of the original layout of the city. It was the design of Andrew Ellicott and was completed in 1795. The name of the park at completion was The Diamond. It was renamed to Perry Square in honor of Commodore Oliver "Hazzard" Perry in 1846.
