From wikipedia:
The Uptown Broadway Building is a historic three-story building at 4703–4715 North Broadway Street in Uptown, Chicago. Lynn Becker of the Chicago Reader has called the exterior "a riotous, Spanish-baroque-inspired hallucination of polychromatic terra-cotta".
The Uptown Broadway Building is part of the Uptown Square Historic District. The Community Development Commission approved $1.1 million in TIF (tax increment financing) subsidy for the $4 million restoration (which is beautiful).
The Uptown Square National Historic District encompasses the Lawrence/Broadway area with its collection of significant buildings including the Uptown Theatre, the Aragon Ballroom, Riviera Theater, Broadway Bank Building and many others. Entertainment was historically the focus of this district.
There's a good article on the building, entitled "Legend of the North Side", here:

The beautiful restoration is a credit to those involved and is key to the continued improvement of this historic area.
