Benchmark is in very good condition and very easy to find - it is atop the highest point, a boulder, of Trail Peak. No trail to the summit, but Pacific Crest Trail runs within 1/2 mile of the peak, although about 800 to 1,000 feet lower. Steep, difficult climb to the summit, though no special equipment is required. Boulders and fallen trees to circumvent.
