If you travel North on State Highway 77 from Oklahoma City, you will eventually reach Orlando. But before you bring out your bathing suit, or gather the kids for a fun ride at Disney World, look again.

This Orlando has a population of about 230, whereas its Florida counterpart counts in at 230,500. Orlando, OK is in wheat country; Orlando, FL grows all types of citrus fruit.

Orlando, OK is at an elevation of 1100 feet, whereas its Florida twin will have trouble with a 15 ft. wave.

There is a question as to how Orlando, FL got its name. Some say it was named after Orlando Reeves, who died in the Second Seminole War. Others say it's named after one of the main characters in Shakespeare's "As You Like It." Orlando, OK was named after Orlando Hysell, a relative of the townsite developer.

If you're visiting Orlando, FL you certainly will make a stop to see the world's most famous mouse at Disney World. In Orlando, OK the closest you'll probably get to Mickey is his long-lost cousin who lives in Elmer's barn.
