At the corner of 9th Street and Manvel Avenue (Route 66), imbedded in the center of 9th Street, is a concrete block commemorating the brick street paving of the town's early days.

A large section of the original paving is still exposed to traffic, although in other parts of town, the bricks have been covered over the years with asphalt.

The wording on this commemorative block is:

Built 1910 - 1911

and R.B. Oleson
