Arenig Fach is a wild and almost untouched mountain situated approximately 7.5 miles north-west of Bala which to the south-east looks down the length of Llyn Celyn reservoir. The north-east side of the mountain is bounded by steep crag which overlooks Llyn Arenig Fach.

If you are seeking a summit with a difference this is the one for you. The lack of any form of path to a summit, which is surrounded by the Migneint bog, gives a very remote feel to the location. Adventurous hikers tackling this Free-to-Roam area will be rewarded with a fantastic 360 degree view at the summit (subject to the Welsh weather!).

Ordnance Survey map OL18 is needed. The obvious fence-line is often used as a route to the top. Allow more time than usual to cover the strenous terrain. Parking can be found at N52° 56.882 W003° 43.173. Allow at least 3 hours there and back.
