An ornately carved letterbox, in the form of a miniature Maori meeting house, collects the mail on Stanley Street, Dannevirke. The carvings are traditional Maori design and colour using paua shell inset into the wood.

The meeting house, or whare runanga in Maori, letterbox is situated on Stanley Street, the main highway through Dannevirke at the southern end of the town.
