Twenty trees were purchased and planted in front, nine for the 9 and another eleven for the 11, thus bringing the total to twenty trees planted in front of this gateway to the fields. The backdrop is the old Lincoln Highway. The trees and sign were paid for by donors classified as red, white and blue donors, red being the highest and most generous. The marker reads:
9/11 REMEMBRANCE
On September 12, 2002, twenty trees were
planted on the front lawn of Glatfelter Memorial
Field
The spacing of these trees, 9 planted on the west
side and 11 planted on the east side, will serve as a
remembrance to those who perished in the terrorist
attack on America on September 11, 2001.
